Deeeeep Cleaning - a Tonic, to be Sure Mar 08, 2005

Talk about a cure for what ails you - this is one of those rare products that will pick you up, give you a good shake, and send you on your refreshed little way.
I'll admit it - I was lucky enough to acquire my first bottle of Tonic Shampoo at no cost to me. Tucked away in a little giftie bag alongside other Bumble & Bumble products, it beckoned to me - I had just arrived home from an industry party where the participants were permitted to smoke, and my hair was reeking of nicotine. I gave this Tonic a go, and I was certainly not disappointed. My scalp tingled like never before, and my hair was cleansed beautifully. I went to sleep with my hair still damp, and woke the next morning to find my hair so soft and beautiful that I was actually nearly amazed.
Don't get me wrong - I love bath and hair products, and am admittedly a bit passionate about them. But this Tonic really stands out. Tea tree oil, peppermint and menthol provide the very real tingle to the scalp, and the shampoo rinses thoroughly. For those in the know, the sensation is comparable to that of Dr. Bronner's peppermint oil soap on the body - only Stronger, and specifically for the hair. As well, it is well suited to regular usage. However, considering the awfully high cost, I will probably opt to stagger usage with less pricey shampoo.
Downfall? If anything, the price. Yes, it is a great product, but the cost is very prohibitive - I don't look forward to the day when my bottle runs out, and I actually have to PAY for more. But I'm hooked, don't you know... and considering how great my scalp and hair feel after using Tonic, I know I'll come back for more.

If you have never had the chance to experience and B&B product, I feel for you. I was introduced to this product line about 5 years ago and I have been a faithful user since. I use Tonic along with the Super Rich conditioner on a regular basis. Tonic is great for hair that tends to be oily or for scalp problems (itchy!) and I tend to have both! It leaves you with a slight tingle while using it and has a clean smell that you don't really smell after drying your hair. I alternate shampoos around as I find that the Tonic shampoo can be a little drying if you use it all the time. I wash my hair once every 5 days and you would never know...

Because of its Tea Tree Oil content, Bumble & Bumble Tonic Shampoo is my go-to product for psoriasis flare ups. I highly recommend it.

I just received this shampoo recently. I like the shampoo, and it does a good job at cleaning my hair, but I really dislike the smell. Normally I like tea tree oil shampoos and their fragrance, but I find this one smells like a medicated shampoo. It's not refreshing at all. With this in mind I probably would not purchase this shampoo again.

I ordered both the Tonic and the Seaweed Bumble&Bumble shampoo and found the Tonic superior on my hair. I have thick, wavy hair that's been foiled with blond highlights. After use, my hair was manageable and soft. Of course, i used Redkin conditioner and massaged in BioSilk SILK (leave-in)hair therapy (the scent is heaven!) so they contributed to the great results. I especially like Tonic for the feeling of "a tonic" on my scalp. It was stimulating and gave a sensation of extra clean without the harshness of a medicated shampoo.
